What to Expect When We Meet Again

Expect to feel welcome! Come as you are. Sunnyside has a great family atmosphere, so whether it's casual in jeans or formal in a suit - everyone fits in.

You can expect humor, seriousness, comfort and challenge in any given service. We strive to glorify God in all aspects. Sunday mornings are planned and orderly, yet we allow freedom of the Holy Spirit to redirect as needed.

About Sunnyside Church of the Nazarene

SCN began as a church plant in 1991 under the leadership of Pastor Don Harris (1991-2013). We spent our first 9 years meeting at Mt. Scott Elementary school until we purchased our current property in 2001. Pastor Chad has been the senior pastor since July 2014. 

We are in exciting times at SCN! Having discovered our mission to help people reach their potential in Christ, we are on continuing journey to give our "Utmost for His Highest."  

Things to know about SCN​

  • Nursery is currently closed
  • Children are always welcome at SCN. However, we do not have a children's ministry at this time.
  • After our morning worship service adults, you are welcome to attend one of two Sunday school classes.  
  • Pastor Chad often leads a dialogue group to discuss the contents of the sermon. This is a great opportunity to clarify and discuss what is uncovered during the sermon.

About Nazarenes

The Nazarene denomination is a Christian Protestant church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, tracing its roots to 1908. It was founded to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christlike living) across the lands. Today the Church of the Nazarene is located in 159 world areas.

We are a Great Commission church. Our mission is to make Christlike disciples in the nations. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

We are a holiness church. We believe that Christians can experience a deeper level of life in which there is victory over sin, power to witness and serve, and a richer fellowship with God, all through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
